Dear friends, our Sunday school class has finished Short Stories by Jesus, by Amy-Jill Levine that took a look at some of Jesus' parables from a Jewish perspective. She raised good questions and insights. While the stories were mostly very familiar, their background and cultural settings were a surprise at times.
Our next study will be a bit different! We will be taking a look at When Kids Ask Hard Questions, Faith-Filled Responses for Tough Topics. Parenting and grand parenting is a tough job sometimes. This study will give us the opportunity to examine some of the things we face and some of the questions we need to be able to answer rooted in our faith perspectives. We will talk about families, loss, money and how to relate to folks who are different than we are. At the first couple of meetings we will look at the different topics and decide as a group which topics are of most interest. I hope you will mark your calendars and plan to be here on Sundays at 9:30 am beginning March 1, 2020.
We will be talking about our lectionary readings this and next Sunday, and then there will be no class on February 16 and 23 while I am on vacation.
Blessings, Pastor Mindy
