Rodger found a Powerball winning ticket last Sunday. Well, we thought that’s what it was! And oh my, did we have some fun. We talked about paying off the farm, setting up our kids and grandkids for the future, and there are family members we would love to be able to take off some pressure. And then we did some future visioning.
We thought about a number of organizations we would like to have supported. We talked about how we could support a couple of foundations that do good work. And of course we thought about ways we could support the church with a great windfall.
Well, we were wrong. It wasn’t a winning lottery ticket (we don’t play the lottery much if at all and so didn’t know exactly what we were looking at). But it was so much fun to think of all the good things we could be part of with those kind of resources. And even without those “deep pockets”, we all have the opportunity to help support the church. In a couple of weeks we will be sending out the introduction to our fall capital campaign.
I invite you to spend some time in the next few weeks visioning about ways we can support the vision and mission of First Christian Church – Disciples making disciples!
Vision - A vital congregation loving God, loving people, serving the world.
Mission - Disciples making disciples for Jesus Christ.

There are multiple ministries with which our church family serves our community and our church family.
The Upper Room is a daily devotional guide containing meditations written by everyday people for everyday people. We have large print copies in the back of the sanctuary. They are free but if you can make a donation to help cover the cost it is greatly appreciated. There is a container next to the devotional in the back of the sanctuary.
