With Pastor Mindy on vacation, I have the pleasure of writing this note to you for the next two weeks and I thought I would use them to tell you a little bit about some of the things that are coming up in the realm of children’s and youth ministry here at FCC.
Our Winter session of Kingdom Kids is now complete. As we do every session, we wrapped things up with a celebration dinner to thank everyone (kids, parents, teachers, shepherds, cooks, kitchen helpers…) for their participation in the program. While the weather hit us hard this term and we had to cancel more often than we would’ve liked, the sessions we were able to have were good; full of learning and fun. Thank you so much to everyone who pitched in this year.
As most of you know, I am usually with my other congregation, in Auxvasse, on Sunday mornings, but March 31 is a “Fifth Sunday,” which means that I will get to be in worship with you in this congregation. Matthew Capestro will be leading the music that Sunday and we would like to invite all the children and youth to help him make a joyful noise for the Prelude and to join the choir for the Anthem. They will practice before Sunday School at 9 am, but it will be simple and, kids will be welcome to jump in and participate during worship, even if they don’t make it to practice!
I look forward to seeing you all then!
Lenten lunches and study continues.
