Fulton First Christian Church
As disciples making disciples for Jesus Christ, we invite, welcome, teach, share and call others to discipleship. At First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ) we practice six marks of discipleship:
Sunday school begins at 9:30 am
The Adults Class (Adults) - We represent several generations with a mix of single and married. Each Sunday, we spend time exploring and studying Bible lessons through the David C. Cook Adult Bible Study Series. We enjoy the fellowship of being together and sponsor at least two gatherings beyond Sunday school.
Rev. Will leads a Bible study each Wednesday night on Zoom at 6 PM looking forward to the upcoming Sunday's scriptures. He provides context and interpretation and then leads a discussion on how the text intersects with our lives here and now.
This class caters to those who think they are beginners to the Bible!
We have decided to cancel Kingdom Kids for the rest of the winter semester.
After discussions with various church leaders and in consultation with the CDC guidelines, we realized that Kingdom Kids would need to be postponed for 2-3 more weeks. However, by doing this we would miss at least half of our total sessions.
We think it best, for the time being, to find an alternative to Kingdom Kids through which we can help foster our kids' faith formation in a more consistent way. We haven't decided yet exactly what that will look like, but we are in the planning process. Stay tuned!
The Rock is a safe, inclusive space for middle and high school students to explore Christian faith and its relevance to "real life." We meet weekly to spend time together playing games, hearing a lesson from the Bible, and having open discussions about what we've heard. Occasionally, we do special events and activities for fun and to serve others. The Rock is an ecumenical youth group, which is currently sponsored and lead by our congregation, along with Court Street United Methodist Church, First Presbyterian Church, and Heartland Church of the Nazarene.
Meetings are Sunday evenings, 6-7:30 PM at The Rock Building (715 Nichols St., Fulton, MO 65251).
Girls Club is a safe space, inclusive space for young ladies nine years of age through their senior year in high school to learn and grow. The Club's goal is to develop women that have the life skills needed to help care for themselves and others and while developing a circle of life-long friends. If you are 9 years old or older, or turning 9 sometime this year, come join us.
Life skills are taught through various activities including sewing, cooking, shopping, discussions, games, gardening, community service, and team building. We meet most months of the year from 11:30 AM until 4 or 4:30 PM. Meetings are usually held on Sundays.
Call the church office if your young lady is interested in joining. Please provide your name and contact information, and the name of your daughter. Mentors are three women from First Christian Church and one of them will reach out to you.
Each week, Rev. Will puts together a Take-Home sheet about the main scripture he preaches on. In it you'll find a commentary, six discussion/journaling questions, an activity, and a prayer. All are designed to help you and your family engage scripture more deeply.
